Bands of Cloth

This painting of the 10th Station of the Cross is found at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. WI. While at Mass today, it struck me in a new way. This station (Jesus is stripped of his garments) is the opposite of Luke 2:7, but in both circumstances, he was rejected by those who did not understand him.

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” -Luke 2:7.
