Joseph’s Secret

My wife recently reminded me that St. Joseph was the only imperfect person in his family.

(I suspect that many husbands and fathers feel the same!)

But of course, the Catholic Church teaches it is true. Despite this, he is considered the Terror of Demons and has been elevated to Protector of the Catholic Church. And when I compare myself to him when it comes to being a husband and father, I fall way short of his example.

How is this possible? How did he do it, despite being the only imperfect person in his family?

It turns out that St. Joseph had one little secret that made achieving such holiness possible. It might be the best “life hack” imaginable:

He spent a LOT of time with Jesus and Mary.

Of all of his admirable traits, that might be the one most worth emulating.
